We went skiing (Breckenridge) on Christmas Eve, but managed to leave the camera in the car. You'll have to settle for pictures from December 23, when we had Eldorado Canyon State Park almost entirely to ourselves for a winter hike. (There was no one around to take a group shot, so we took turns posing. Hana was uncharacteristically camera-shy.)

Lovely to see your happy smiling family having a wonderful time together. I get to see my tribe on Sunday, weather permitting, not a day too soon. We are still snowed under here in Portland but it should start getting better tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
great photos!
Hi Kate!
Thanks for posting the happy pictures!
Brussels has been cold and sunny for the past week. It sure beats wet! I love Christmas here, low-key, and not so commercial as in the US. This year I made holiday packs of cookies for all of our regulars: pharmacy, press shop, street accordion-player, shoemaker, bus drivers, etc. The response was AMAZING. I should have figured this out sooner, but thought it would be bizarre/arrogant/just plain stupid to compete with all the great patisseries.
Happy New Year to you and your family.. and a very belated "thank you" from the bottom of my heart, to you and your husband for all the hard work you put in to help elect Obama.
Hattie
